Meningioangiomatosis
- Meningioangiomatosis is a rare, benign, hamartomatous lesion involving the cerebral cortex and leptomeninges.
- Lesions usually involve the cerebral hemispheres; however, lesions have been described in the deep gray nuclei, brainstem, and cerebellum.
- Imaging characteristics: gyriform/linear enhancement and calcification of the leptomeninges and cortex, which are the result of meningovascular fibroblastic proliferation.
- Most cases are sporadic, although there is an association with neurofibromatosis type 2 (NF2).
- Cyst formation is exceedingly rare.
