American Society of Neuroradiology: President Robert D. Zimmerman, FACR

Dr. Robert Zimmerman currently holds the positions of Executive Vice Chairman and Professor of Radiology at the Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City and is the Director of Diagnostic Imaging at the New York Presbyterian Hospital. He graduated from Einstein College of Medicine and was a radiology resident at Montifiore Medical Center, also in New York. Following a fellowship in neuroradiology at George Washington University Medical Center, he returned to Montifiore as an attending neuroradiologist and Assistant Professor at Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Zimmerman moved to Cornell University and The New York Hospital in 1983.

Dr. Zimmerman's area of interest is adult neuroradiology. He has co-authored 105 peer-reviewed publications, 1 book, and 22 invited papers/book chapters. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the American Journal of Neuroradiology (AJNR) and a manuscript reviewer for 6 additional journals including the New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet, and Stroke. He is a Past President of the New York Roentgen Society and the Eastern Neuroradiology Society. He has served for the past several years on the Executive Committee of the American Society of Spine Radiology and is a member of the Radiology Residency Review Committee for the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and Chairman of the Neuroradiology Case Selection Committee for the American Board of Radiology.

Dr. Zimmerman is married to Ellen Zimmerman who has put up with him for 39 years. He is the father of Max, 24, and Molly, 18, who have manipulated him shamelessly their entire lives. Dr. Zimmerman would not have it any other way. Dr. Zimmerman lives on the Upper West Side of New York City near the Museum of Natural History where he may often be found visiting the dinosaurs.

American Society of Pediatric Neuroradiology: President Blaise V. Jones, MD

Dr. Blaise Jones is Associate Professor of Radiology, Chief of Neuroradiology, and Director of MR Imaging at the Children's Medical Center in Cincinnati. After graduating from Duke and Georgetown Universities, he completed his radiology residency and neuroradiology fellowship, both at the University of Cincinnati. He is the author or co-author of more than 80 book chapters and many peer-reviewed articles. He has been named an outstanding clinician at his institution on 3 different occasions. He lectures widely and has previously served as Treasurer, Secretary, and Vice President of the American Society of Pediatric Neuroradiology. He also serves in several important positions in the American Society of Neuroradiology and is an examiner for the American Board of Radiology.

American Society of Spine Radiology: Bassem A. Georgy, MD

Dr. Bassem Georgy is in private practice at Valley Radiology Consultants in Escondido, Calif, while also serving as Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of California in San Diego. He obtained his MD degree from Cairo University School of Medicine where he also trained in radiology. He did a second residency in radiology at the University of South Alabama and fellowships in interventional neuroradiology and MR imaging in San Diego. His curriculum vitae lists nearly 100 articles, abstracts, and scientific exhibits. He has been awarded numerous prizes and 2 industry grants for his work in spinal imaging and intervention. He is Past President of the San Diego Radiologic Society and former Vice President of the American Society of Spine Radiology. An Associate Editor for Pain Physician, he also reviews for many other journals.

American Society of Head and Neck Radiology: Timothy L. Larson, MD

Dr. Timothy Larson is Chief of Head and Neck Radiology at the Swedish Hospital in Seattle. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Oregon State University and his medical degree from the University of Washington in Seattle. He was a resident in radiology at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Additionally, he trained in head and neck radiology at the University of California in Los Angeles and at Loma Linda University. His publications and presentations total nearly 30, most in the area of the head and neck. He served as Guest Editor for an issue of Seminars in CT, US and MR imaging, the topic of which was imaging of the postoperative head and neck. A previous Treasurer, Secretary, and Vice President of American Society of Head and Neck Radiology, he has also held positions on several committees in the same society.

American Society of Functional Neuroradiology: Jay J. Pillai, MD

Dr. Jay Pillai is Associate Professor and Director of Functional MR Imaging at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. After graduating from Yale University he obtained his MD degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and completed his radiology residency at Newark's Beth Israel Medical Center. He completed a neuroradiology fellowship at Case Western Reserve University Hospitals in Cleveland and then joined the Department of Radiology at the Medical College of Georgia. He is a member of the Editorial Board of AJNR and received a Radiologic Society of North America seed grant in 2000. Previously, he has held the positions of Treasurer, Secretary, and Vice President of the American Society of Functional Neuroradiology.

Society of NeuroInterventional Surgery: Mary Elizabeth Jensen, MD

Dr. Lee Jensen is Professor of Radiology and Director of Interventional Neuroradiology at the University of Virginia. She received her MD degree, radiology, and neuroradiology training at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. She is also a Lieutenant Colonel and Flight Surgeon with the Virginia Air National Guard. She has co-authored more than 80 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, has delivered over 120 invited lectures, and is listed as a co-investigator in more than 10 funded projects. Her program in interventional neuroradiology has graduated nearly 20 individuals, many of them electing to remain in academics and now in prestigious positions. She has been extensively involved with our scientific societies and is a member of many ASNR committees in addition to being President of the Southeastern Neuroradiological Society and Treasurer, Secretary, and Vice President of the SNIS (formerly ASITN).
