A 38-year-old man with a 5-week history of headaches, intermittent blurred vision, and nausea
(Idiopathic) Foramen of Monro Stenosis/Atresia
- Idiopathic foramen of Monro stenosis is rare.
- Some common etiologies include infection, neoplastic, vascular, and congenital causes.
- In the current case, no mass lesion, no abnormal enhancement, and no abnormal focal lesion could be identified.
- Clinical Presentation: Headache, change in mental status
- Key Diagnostic Features: Symmetric dilatation of the lateral ventricles. Normal appearing 3rd and 4th ventricles. No imaging evidence of any obstructing lesion at the foramen of Monro.
- Rx: Foraminoplasty, septostomy, VP shunt surgery
